The return of the “get paid to search” opportunity
->
my search funds is a new get paid to search program which hopefully will do better than it’s predecessors, ZotSpot and SlashMySearch. ZotSpot sold it’s business and SMS well that’s in my opinion a complete joke. I’ve always believed there is no money to be made with that businessmodel for the simple reason that the profit margin on reselling ads it to little to go and split that over several downline levels. Plus the searchresults returned or so bad that everyone switches back to Google.
First the advertising company takes it’s chunk of profit then the searchengine company does the same what’s left is then divided over several levels of downline. If the advertising company itself offered a paid-to-surf searchengine it might be possible. So if this one is going to survive I don’t know, I do hope they learned from the others.
The good thing and at the same time uncertain factor in the whole picture is that it’s powered by Ask.com which is a very good searchengine and in some ways better than google. The uncertain factor is how long will Ask.com sponsor? They have a history of preying on small upstarts and use their viral marketing to promote their searchengine. Once they have part of the userbase they use that tactic elsewhere. So I hope this startup is working on their own searchtechnology and advertising channel so by the time Ask.com parts they have something in place to compensate.
Anyway let’s give them the benefit of the doubt, here is their payplan:
A good thing is it’s an British company so they pay in British Pond which is great for US members as the pound is double in value compared to the dollar. Payment is possible via PayPal (the horror company, yuk) or banktransfer for UK members.
